Light meters are used in many industries, including health and safety to prove compliance to industrial workplace regulations, and Intercal is now the only BBBEE 2 SANAS accredited laboratory in Southern Africa for the calibration of these light meters.
Photometry is the eighth parameter at Intercal accredited by SANAS to ISO17025:2017 and is the culimination of over two years of development, research and construction.
The photometry laboratory was specially constructed to be light-proof in order to improve accuracy while the photometry bench was customed designed and built in-house using precision custom-made parts. This attention to detail has paid off with accreditation being granted at just 2.5% of reading over the range 13 to 3200 lux.
Light levels in work areas is strictly regulated and must be measured and monitored regularly. The accredited photometry laboratory at Intercal can calibrate the light meters used to ensure that workers are provided with a safe and healthy working environment
