Accurate timing is the mainstay of industrial processes, financial transactions, aircraft and satellite communications, global navigation and even sport. The slightest error could cause financial collapse, an airline disaster, loss of global communications or collisions in the air or at sea. Even in sport and error could mean the difference between the honour of a medal at the Olympics or ‘better luck next time’.
The time and frequency laboratory at Intercal calibrates equipment from extremely high frequency counters to hand held stop watches and everything in between.
